WHERE IS CIBOURE IN THE BASQUE COUNTRY ?

Ciboure belongs to the district of Bayonne, in the Pyrénées-Atlantiques. It is located only 5 km from Urrugne, in front of the bay of Socoa-Saint Jean de Luz. It is connected to Saint Jean de Luz by a bridge that spans the Nivelle. It has a marina, located on the quay Ravel. It also has a main beach and two small beaches near its fort. The charming alleys intertwine in the village itself, bordered by sumptuous villas overlooking the sea and monuments dating from the eighteenth century. Its Socoa district is linked to Hendaye-Plage by the famous “corniche basque”, a path giving a splendid view of the Bay of Biscay and the cliffs of the coast. It is full of sites not to be missed like the house of Maurice Ravel, located on the quay Ravel, where the famous composer was born.
